What to look for when choosing a bridal shop
Recommendations are a great starting point for finding a bridal shop. If someone has recommended a shop to you then that means they probably had a great experience and that is one of the most important parts of your shopping journey - however it may not be the only thing to consider! Keep reading to hear our top tips for choosing bridal shops for you because everyone is different and has unique needs.
The dresses
Whilst it is great to keep an open mind whilst dress shopping, it does help to be attracted to the overall vibe of the dresses being offered by a bridal shop. Do they display their dresses on their site/social media and can you see the kinds of styles you like being offered (boho, classic, glam etc.)? If they fit your vision then that helps massively as it means you will have a great chance at finding your dress. Remember - most brides choose a dress that is different to what they had in mind, however if you are fixed on a particular style you may want to enquire with the shop first to check they have dresses similar to what you are looking for. This will make dress shopping less stressful, as you won’t be struggling to find what you are looking for during your appointment!
Budget
If you have a budget for your dress (don’t worry - most people do!) then you may want to double check what the price range of a shop is. There would be nothing worse than falling in love with a dress that you can’t afford. Also check payment terms and come to appointments prepared and ready to purchase your gown in case you do find ‘the one’. Sizing
Unlike our off-the-peg collection, traditional bridal shops usually work by trying a sample on in a certain size then having it ordered in your nearest size. This means you could be trying on dresses in sizes bigger or smaller which lots of brides find they struggle to vision how the dress will look in their size or even fit into many of the samples! We want to do things differently to eliminate the stress of trying on dresses that don’t fit. We have heard so many brides come to us after a bad experience with sizing, so rest assured we offer a great selection of dresses in all sizes so that you can try dresses on in your actual size. It is so important for us to be inclusive with sizing, from a size 6 to a size 28 and we always want to do better with this!
